Great Ormond Street Hospital does incredible things for
suffering children who are in need of help. They turn their lives around and
give them one. The king john school is proud to be supporting them, donating
outstanding amounts of money. The main year donating to them is year 7 raising
the most amount of money with a whopping £1630. Are donations help children in
need, we really do turn their lives around.
7-03 recently did a fun fundraising race called wacky races.
We had to first dress up into a silly costume like a robe and then put on a wig
and finally a hat. Then we had to run back and whoever came to the finish line
first had one. Mrs Kitsou even did it! We all enjoyed this fun activity while
raising money. Our tutor group raised lots of money for an incredible cause. This
will help with lots of problems they face at GOSH.
Another event that has been going on the past month is the
readathon. Last year we raised £2000 for GOSH and £2000 for the school. The
readathon is an educational enjoyable way to raise money. This is when we have
a month to read as much as we can and try to get sponsors. The person who gets
the most sponsors will get a prize, so far someone has raised £100. The
readathon helps us to learn to love reading while raising money.
So far year 7 has raised lots of money and will carry on
raising money. We have had lots of fun things to do all for charity. GOSH helps
sick children but need the money otherwise they will not be able to do what
they do. King john are happy to be a part of raising the money.
